Hospitalist - Physician - (Hospital Medicine) Locum Tenens
Start! Date: ASAP Available Shifts: 12 Hour/Day
This facility is a part of a large health system in Mississippi and is seeking hospitalist physicians for locum tenens work. The schedule is 7 days on and 7 days off. Day shifts (7am-7pm) and night shifts (7pm-7am) available. 15 patients per day. No procedures required. Please contact Staff Care for more information!
A hospitalist (locum tenens) is a physician that is generally Internal Medicine residency trained but can be from Family Medicine or other sub-specialty programs. They specialize in the care of patients who have been admitted into a hospital. These general medicine professionals perform a variety of roles in the hospital and, accordingly, must be familiar with the entirety of human physiology and a wide range of illnesses and medical conditions. Hospitalists complete residencies in internal medicine, much like primary care physicians. When patients arrive to the hospital, a hospitalist will take car! e of them, prescribing treatment as needed, before referring t! hem to a specialist or discharging them from the facility.
Required Qualifications
Provider must be a Board Certified Internist with active ACLS or BLS.
Preferred Qualifications
Facility has open ICU with intensivist support.
